Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) Recruitment

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has conducted the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2017 today on February 26th as per the schedule. The notification was issued on December 2nd, applications had commenced from December 3rd and ended on December 29th, 2016. The admit cards were uploaded on January 27th, 2017. The candidates who applied for technical branch also appeared for the Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT).

After the completion of the examination, AFCAT 2017 answer keys will be released online by many of the coaching institutions and the Indian Air Force administration as well. Whereas the official answer keys will be out in few days, the unofficial answer keys and solutions will be out by Sunday evening and Monday only.

Dear candidates, Online Application forms are invited by Indian Air Force for the courses for the grant of SSC in Flying branch (Short Service Commission), SSC/PC (Permanent Commission) in Ground Duty Technical branch  and Ground Duty (Non Technical) branch. Mode of Application is Online. Registration of Online Application process will open from 03rd December, 2016. Registration of Online Application process will close on 29th December, 2016. Disciplines : Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}; Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)}

Qualification: 4 years Graduation degree or integrated post Graduation Qualification in Technology or Engineering with 60% of marks in maths, physics at 10+2 level.

Age Limit: 20 years to 26 years as on 01st January 2018.

Pay: Rs.71,550/-

  1. Ground Duty (Non-technical) (202/18G/ PC/M, 202/18G/ SSC/M & W)

Disciplines: Administration, Logistics, Accounts, Education

Qualification: Qualification for Accounts must be B.Com.; Qualification for Education must be MBA/MCA or M.Sc./MA degree in physics / English/ Chemistry/ Statistics etc. Qualification for Administration, Logistics is Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University.

Pay: Rs.68,550/-

Selection Process for Flying, Ground Duty (Technical, Non-technical) Commissioned Officers Recruitment:

  1. It will be through AFCAT-2017, EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test)-2017 which will be conducted on 26th February, 2017 (Sunday).
  2. AFCAT-2017 will be of 2 hours duration with objective type questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, military aptitude and General Awareness.
  3. EKT-2017 would be for 45 minutes and it will be held immediately after AFCAT-2017.
  4. Short listed candidates of AFCAT-2017, EKT-2017 will be called for another test at Mysore or Dehradun or Varanasi or Gandhinagar or Kanchrapara. For Flying branch, test will be conducted in Mysore, Varanasi and Dehradun only.
  5. This test consists of 3 stages.
  1. a) Stage I: It is a screening test and those who qualify will go for subsequent test.
  2. b) Stage II: It consists Psychological, group test, interview.
  3. c) For Flying branch: CPSS would be Administrated for eligible candidates which is a Computerised Pilot Selection System.
